P.S. I didn't win. I provided an innovative product and idea, but it was very complicated. Unfortunately I didn't express the concept as well as I could have. Ah well, such is life! Can't win everything :)

Your exuberance is compounded by your youth and energy and can be a fantastic thing but remember, young Jedi, all the success in the world will not replace the life you give up chasing it. I believe there is as much joy, if not more, in creating the perfect life as there is in creating the perfect company. Companies come and go; the only constant is you. There are things you can only experience with beautiful naive awe that comes from being young and unencumbered by skepticism brought on by too much time in the world. Chasing a fortune will never lead to happiness, those two paths must be traveled separately. I believe all your goals will come to fruition, but living without balance may prove to be more of a price than you'll want to pay. Sometimes its just fun to walk in the rain.

Mark, there is a limit on how small something can be and still have it valuable, you are correct there. I think we are a much better natural judge of something that is too small versus too long, and therefore less susceptible to ruining content by making it too small.

I think there is a limit on how effectively you can "chuck" writing. It seems like it is going to be difficult to distribute something that is really small and still valuable--perhaps jokes, but that is all I can think of.

Nathan,

I know about the same topics arising all over the place - oftentimes this is a natural result of news coverage editorial. Other times it can be an instructional article to readers who aren't in the know, but to the rest of us is old news or a no brainer.

Whatever it is that you write about, just put passion into it with opinion and analysis that reflects your background experience or contextual understanding. Oftentimes just knowing that latter half, makes one's opinion that much more interesting because it lets us know 'why' you believe or see the situation as such.

Good luck on Friday!
