Confused? I know I was. Pretty designs from Logic+Emotion combined with some faint notion of what Google’s Orkut kept coming to mind. I kept thinking I would be able to use my ability to figure out what an acronym stands for with astounding accuracy, a skill I’ve spent many years honing. But I ended up giving up and spent some time figuring it out via search.

A social graph is a social network. Yup. It’s that simple. OK, really it’s slightly more. It’s an open social network. Like… you can access all the users and data on it or something. No one is really sure what else is involved with it, but they’re excited!

So consider a ‘social graph’ kind of like what Facebook has done with its applications. Arbitrary name? Yes!
