The Technopian: Your guide for cyberculture and social media
Hi! This is me. I'll be your guide into the realm of entrepreneurship and social media. If you haven't already, you should subscribe to my blog feed!

Can I have that?

Organizations all over are always giving away free stuff. I never fully liked that idea because people always smell a catch. It just feels in-authentic. It doesn’t build a relationship of trust; you start off on the wrong foot. Bad things happen when you start off on the wrong foot like tripping or running slower from a stampede of elephants- that kind of thing.

I thought about something new. What if instead of giving people something you asked for something of theirs? Anything they’re willing to give. A pencil. Toothpaste. Their shirt. What you do with the things you get is really up to you. But I bet your conversations would be very different.
